鮪の目玉

初めて魚の目を食べました！

鮪の目玉が思ったよりずいぶん大きかったの。友達によると、魚の目はをコラーゲンを含有して、皮膚にとてもいい物です。中華料理も他の魚の目を使っていて、でも私は食べたことがない。鮪の目玉を見て怖かったけど、勇気を出して食べました。

驚いたことに、とてもおいしかった！機会があれば、ぜひ食べてみてください。

I ate tuna eye for the first time!

The fish eye was much larger than I had expected. According to my friend, fish eye contains collagen, and is very good for the skin. Although Chinese cooking also uses the eye of other types of fish, I had not eaten those before. It was scary looking at the eye of the tuna, but in the end I plucked up the courage to eat it.

It was surprisingly good! If you have a chance, do give it a try.

夜の恵比寿

昨日友達と一緒に恵比寿ガーデンプレスに食事に行った。そこの広場はクリスマスの装飾がいっぱいで、夢のようでとてもきれいでした。広場の中で立って、涼しい空気を吸って、気持ちよかった。やっぱり秋ですよね。

Went out with some friends to Ebisu Garden Place yesterday. The square there was full of Christmas decorations, and was magically beautiful. It felt really good to stand in the middle of the square and breathe in the cool air. I still prefer autumn afterall.

食事の後で、近くのイギリスパブに飲みに行った。驚いたことに、パブが8時でも込んでいて、私たちは立っているしかなかった。偶然に、昨日はアーセナル対マンチェスター・ユナイテッドの試合でした！

とても楽しかったわ。

After dinner, we went to a nearby English pub for drinks. What was surprising was that the pub was crowded even at 8 pm, and we had to stand. By coincidence, there was a Arsenal vs Man United match yesterday!

I had a great time. :)

日本で初めてサッカー試合を見た！

国立競技場で、サッカー試合を見に行きました！

その試合は、FC東京とFC東京ヴェルディが競合していました。雨が降っていても、観衆がとても興奮したんです。ホームチームの支持者は試合の始めから終わりまでずっと歌ってたんです。

競技場は屋根がなっかたので、私と友達が雨に濡れました。でも、土曜日の夜皆と一緒に試合を見て、涼しい雨を楽しんで、気分がよかったです！

I watched a soccer match at the National Stadium!

The match was between FC Tokyo and FC Tokyo Verdy. Although it was raining, the spectators were very excited. The supporters of the home team were singing from the start of the match to the end.

As the stadium was not sheltered by a roof, my friend and I got wet. However, it felt good to be watching a match on a Saturday night and enjoying the cool rain!

今日は、新しい竹野内豊のドラマの「Tomorrow」が始まりました！

分からないで、リモコンの「字幕」のボタンを押してみたんです。ああ！字幕が出てきた！字幕が日本語でも、ドラマが分かりやすくなったんです。よかったですね。。。これから、毎晩ドラマを見ようと思います！

今日の新しい語彙は、「甘く見る（あまくみる）｣。これは、たいしたことがないとからく見るという意味です。

The new dorama "Tomorrow" starring Takenouchi Yutaka started today!

Without knowing why, I pressed the subtitle button of the remote control. Subtitles appeared! Even though the subtitles were in Japanese, the dorama became easier to understand. Great! From now onwards, I shall watch doramas every night!

My new vocab for today is "甘く見る". This means to take something lightly.

電気オーブンの変事

昨日スーパーで大好きなカマンベールを見ました。今までスーパーで切れているチーズはぜんぜん見たことがないよ。すごい！北海道のカマンベールはフランスのと違うかな？じゃ、買った食べてみましょう！チーズを食べるために、パンやでバゲットもか買いました。

（部屋に帰ってから。。。）

うちの電気オーブンは使ったことがないんです。オーブンは海外から輸入されたのに、説明書が日本語で、大嫌いなカタカナが一杯です。どうしたらいい？説明書をちゃんと読んでからオーブンを使ったほうがいい？いやだ。直観に頼って使う！

（十分後で。。。）

バゲットが出来た！でも、オーブンはどうしてアラームが止まらないで鳴っているの？？？もし徹夜で鳴り続けたらどうするの？誰か助けて！

（廿分後で。。。）

やっと止まりました！でも。。。オーブンを消したら、換気扇がまだ聞こえています。誰か助けてくれないの？？やっぱり説明書ですよね。。。

（三十分後で。。。）

説明書のトラブルシューティングガイドが、そんな問題については書いてないんです。問題じゃないかな？インタネットで英語の説明書を探してみようか。

あった！でも、英語の説明書は日本語のと同じ。。。大変なあ！

（三十五分後で。。。）

疲れた！もう何もしたくない！バゲットを食べていく。

（四十五分後で。。。）

えぇ！換気扇が独りでに止まった！

I saw my dearly beloved camembert cheese in the supermarket yesterday. I have never seen camembert cheese sold in cut form before. Amazing! Would Hokkaido camembert be different from French camembert? Let's buy some to try! I bought a baguette from the bakery as well, to go with the camembert.

(upon returning home...)

I've never used the oven at home before. Although the oven is an imported product, the instruction manual is in Japanese and is filled with my hated katakana. Should I read the manual properly before using the oven? Urgh... I'll rely on my instinct.

(10 minutes later...)

The baguette is ready! But why is the alarm beeping without stopping? What if it continues to beep throughout the night? Somebody, help!

(20 minutes later...)

The beeping has finally stopped! But why can I still hear the ventilation fan after the oven is switched off? Isn't anyone going to help???? Sigh... To the instruction manual!

(30 minutes later...)

The troubleshooting guide in the instruction manual does not list any such problem. Maybe it is not a problem? Let's try to search the web for the English instruction manual.

Found it! Shit... The English version has the same contents as the Japanese version.

(35 minutes later...)

Tired! Not going to do anything anymore.... I'm going to eat my baguette.

Eh! The ventilation fan has stopped by itself!

日本の生活が始まります！

やっと自分の部屋に引っ越しました！自分のうちに住めて、また小人と一緒にいえて、本当に嬉しいです。うちはマレーシアのより小さくでも、とてもきれいで快適です。

だんだん日本の生活に慣れて来た。朝の電車がたいていすごく込んでいても、便利です。電気製品は説明書が日本語でも、使えます。先週の土曜日、TBSチャネルで松島菜々子のドラマを8回も見てた。新しい友達もできた。

それに、昨日日本語の勉強を始めました。気分がよかった！日本に着いた後で、あまり勉強してないです。でも、これから頑張ります。

今まで海外の友達が応援してくれて、ありがとう！速くまた会えていいですね。

I've finally moved into my own place! Really happy to be able to live in my own place and be with my dwarves again. Although my home is smaller than in Malaysia, it is very beautiful and comfortable.

I have gradually become used to life in Japan. While the train is extremely crowded in the mornings, it is convenient. Although electrical appliances have Japanese instruction manuals, I am able to use them. Last Saturday, I watched 8 episodes of a Nanako Matsushima drama on TBS channel. I've also made new friends.

I've also started my Japanese lessons yesterday. I felt really good! I have not really been studying Japanese after I arrived in Japan, but will work hard from now on.

To the friends overseas, thanks for your support so far! I hope to see you again soon.

新宿御苑の花見

今日花見パーティに行った！先週できた友達が誘うしてくれて、新宿御苑で桜を見た。

新宿御苑はすごくきれいでした。桜を見たい人が多いので、御苑はどこでもにぎやかで、込んでいた。みんなはビールを飲みながら、花を楽しんだ。

みんなは幸せそうだよね！私も幸せでした。日本に来られて、本当によかった！

御苑は桜以外、変な人もいた。この人はおかしいでしょう？

私は日本が大好きです。:)

I went for a hanami party today! At the invitation of a new friend I met last week, I went to Shinjuku Gyoen (Shinjuku Imperial Garden) for sakura viewing.

Shinjuku Gyoen was extremely pretty. As there were a lot of people who wanted to see the sakura, it was crowded everywhere in the gardens. People drank while enjoying the flowers.

Everyone looked so blissfully happy! I was very happy too. I'm glad to be able to come to Japan.

In addition to the sakura, there were also strange people in the gardens. Isn't this guy strange?

I love Japan. :)

自分が見られるように

昨日スターブックスでコーヒーを飲んでるとき、「あるマレーシアの女性は小さいコーヒーを飲んでも長く時間スターブックスで座りますか。他の人は自分が見られるように。」私は外国人の友達に聞かれました。

「そう思いますけど、スターっクスがたくさんあるので、もうCoolじゃないわよ。こんな女性は、分Pavilion（KLの高くて新しいモール）のコーヒー屋で一番多いはずです。」

As I was having a coffee in Starbucks yesterday, I was asked by my foreigner friend: "Do some girls stay in Starbucks for a long time to be seen, even if they have only ordered a small coffee?"

"I think so. But there are so many Starbucks around that Starbucks is not that cool anymore. The girls who you are referring to are likely to be mostly in Pavilion (the expensive new mall in KL)."

私はマレーシアの食べ物が好きといったので、今日親切な友達がおいしい店を紹介してくれた。マレーシアを離れる前に、最後の案内かもしれない。

まず、私たちは「パーサー」という場所で朝ごはんを食べた。込んでいたので、テーブルを見つけにくかった。皆が簡単な服を着ていったけど、実はお金持ち人です。久しぶりなワンタンミーが食べられて、よかった！それに、「ハイナンティ」という飲み物も飲んでみた。「ハイナンティ」はコーヒーとお茶を混合する飲み物で、ほかの店も売ってる。でも、この店の「ハイナンティ」は他の店のより、甘くなくて、おいしかった。

昼ごはんは、チャオキットの有名な面だった。この店は自分で新鮮の面を作ってる。面を入れるチーリもそうだと思う。店は３時でも、人がいっぱいだった。これはわかりやすいね。面はやすくておいしかった。私は朝ご飯でおなかが一杯だったのに、自分の面をすべて食べた。

紹介された食べ物はおいしかったけど、やっぱり一番うれしいのは、マレーシアで親切な友達ができた。：）

My friend showed me to good eating places today, as I said earlier that I like the food in Malaysia. I guess this may be my last guide tour before I leave Malaysia.

We first went to a place called Pasar (this means "market" in Malay) for breakfast. The place was crowded, and it was hard to find a table. Although the people were not dressed up, they are actually quite rich. It has been a long time since I ate wan tan mee, and it was really good to be able to eat it again. Besides that, I also tried a drink called Hainan Tea. Hainan Tea is a drink mixed from coffee and tea, and it is also sold at other places (at the Hong Kong cha chan teng, it is known as yuan yang). However, the Hainan Tea at this stall was less sweet and nicer than that of other stores.

Lunch was noodles at a famous stall in Chow Kit. The stall makes its own noodles, and I guessed probably its chilli sauce too. The stall was packed with people even at 3 pm. That was easy to understand, given that its noodles were cheap and good. Despite being full from breakfast, I finished all my noodles.

Although all the food introduced to me were really good, the happiest thing for me was to have made a kind friend in Kuala Lumpur.

プトラジャヤ

おはよう！今朝３時に寝たのに、８時半に起きた。寝た時間はこんなに短くて、私がもう若くないかな？

時間があるので、ここでプトラジャヤというマレーシアの都市を少し紹介する。（正直は、おいしいコーヒーをゆっくり飲み続けたい。）

プトラジャヤはマレーシアの新行政都市で、連邦政府の大部分がそこに移転されたんです。同僚にようると、クアラルンープルから少し遠いので、今まで住んでいる人が少ないそうです。

しかし、プトラジャヤは私がマレーシアに来た後で、ずっと行きたかったところです。この都市の建物も新しいし、それにいろいろな種類もあるし。フランスのLa Defenseみたいと思った。写真がすきな私には、今月やっと行けてよかった！

プトラジャヤではどこでも新しくてきれいで、それで私も気分がよかった。ひとつ残念なのは大き木が少なくて、なかなか暑かった。

プトラモスク

プトラジャヤで、観光客がプトラモスク見物したり、クルーズをしたり出来る。マレーシアに来れば、ぜひプトラジャヤに見物に行ってね！

Good morning! Although I slept at 3 am this morning, I woke up at 8:30 am. Does the short sleeping time mean that I am no longer young?

Since I have some time, I shall briefly introduce Putrajaya. (Actually, I just want to continue drinking my coffee leisurely).

Putrajaya is Malaysia's new administrative city, and most of the federal government agencies have moved there. According to my colleague, as it is a bit far from Kuala Lumpur, there are few people living there.

However, Putrajaya is a place that I've been wanting to go to since coming to Malaysia. The buildings are all new and are of a wide variety, and I guessed it looks like la Defense in France. As I like photography, I was really glad to be able to go to Putrajaya at last this month.

Everywhere in Putrajaya was new and clean, giving me a good feeling. One spoiler was the lack of big trees, making the place quite warm.

Visitors to Putrajaya can visit Putra Mosque and go on a river cruise. If you come to Malaysia, do visit Putrajaya!

お好み焼き

久しぶりだね！今までJLPTの準備で忙しくて、ブログを書く時間があまりなかったんです。

最近はなんか疲れた。勉強しすぎるかな？それで今日少し休憩して、お好み焼きを作ってみた。

お好み焼きは２枚が作った。最初のはキャベツがいっぱいで、返しにくかった。次のは粉が多くて返しやすかった。しかし、私はキャベツがいっぱいの方が好きです。

写真があまりきれいじゃないけど、実はかなり美味しかったわよ。

明日、から揚げチキンを作ってみようと思う。

It has been a while! I have been busy with preparation for JLPT, so didn't have much time to blog.

I have been tired lately. Too much studying? I took a break today and tried to make okonomiyaki.

I made two okonomiyakis. The first was filled with cabbage, so was hard to turn over. The next one had more flour, so was easy to turn over.　However, I like the one filled with cabbage more.

Although the photo is not very good, the okonomiyaki was actually quite delicious.

Tomorrow, I'm going to make karaage chicken.

姫路城

空港で友達が迎えてきてくれて、よかった。イギリスからアジアに引っ越した後で、ずっと誰も空港に私を迎えに来ない！

私が空港の駐車場で、速く販売機からコーヒーを買いました。日本の販売機で売ってるコーヒーが大好き！久しぶりですね。

まず、私達が姫路城に行きました。関西空港から姫路まで車で１時間半ぐらいかかりました。途中に大阪の景色が見えて、気持ちよかった！

ガイドブックによると、姫路城は日本の城の中で、一番きれいだって。古いですが、壁がまだ真っ白です。他の名前「白鷺城」があります。

皆は城に入る前に、自分の靴を脱いで、スリッパを履きました。袋で自分の靴を持ちながら、城を回りました。それは他の国で、絶対に見えない！

城の壁には射手が撃てる穴がたくさんありました。穴の形は、丸や三角などでした。イギリスのは、長方形しかない。友達によると、昔の人は城が面白くなりたかったそうでした。全然信じられない。でも、きっと特別な理由があるでしょう？

次は、姫路城西御屋敷跡庭園でした。私が姫路城で写真を撮る時、チケットを失くしちゃった。でも、友達の説明のおかげで、もう一度払わないで庭園に入れました。この所は侍の家だったそうです。きれい！庭園はとても広くて、植物の種類も多かったです。

姫路観光の後で、もうお腹がすいた！そして姫路を出て、お昼に行きました。

白鷺城、バイバイ！

ザワークラウトの後は、お好み焼き？

今日一日中は掃除したり、アイロンを掛けたりした。晩ご飯は美味しいものを食べたかった。そしてLord of the Ringsを読みながら、ザワークラウトを作った。美味しそうでしょう？ザワークラウトはドイツ料理で、ビールによく似合うって。私もビール飲みながら食べました。

今夜Lonely Planetで大阪の観光を調べてる。新しいのも昔のもあって、面白そうだね。今おなかもういっぱいけど、お好み焼きを食べたい！！！

今外で花火が見えてる。花火は、時間がこんな短い、でもすごくきれいだね。終わりは来なきゃ、でも心に覚える。ずっと。。。

I spent the whole of today cleaning and ironing. For dinner, I wanted to eat something nice. As such, I cooked sausage and sauerkraut while reading "Lord of the Rings". It looks delicious, right? Sauerkraut is a German dish, I heard that it goes very well with beer. I too, had beer while eating.

I'm checking up on my Japan trip in Lonely Planet. There are both modern and historic sights in Osaka, which look interesting. Although I am already full, I still feel like eating okonomiyaki!

I can see fireworks outside. Fireworks last for such a short time, but are so beautiful. It has to end, but I will remember it in my heart for a long time.

マレーシアの店員

今週は忙しかったから、日本語の授業を今朝まで延期しなければならなかった。今日授業の後で、図書館に行って、JLPT試験を練習した。今日は日本語の勉強の日だよね。聴解の質問がかなり難しかった！何回も聞いてもあまり分かれなかったし。

練習中に、近くのSecret Recipeでちょっと休憩した。店は狭かったが、店員が四人いました。四人の中で二人はとても暇そうだった。でも勘定の際、店員は私のテーブルに来る気が無く、レジで私を待っていた。私が食べたケーキは高かったが、その店員の為になるからでしょう。実はマレーシアの店の調子が、このSecretRecipeのと大体同じ。店員が多すぎけど、私にはサービスが遅すぎ。

おなかがすいた！では、今晩ご飯を作りに行く。。。

As I have been busy this week, I had to postpone my Japanese lesson to this morning. After the lesson today, I went to the library and practised JLPT exam questions. This is a day of studying Japanese! The listening comprehension questions were quite difficult! Despite listening many times, I could hardly understand.

In between, I took a break at the Secret Recipe cafe near the library. While the cafe was small, there were four staff. Out of the four, two looked very free. However, when I asked for the bill, the staff waited for me at the cash register instead of coming to my table. The high price of the cake that I had was probably due to these staff. Actually, the situation in the shops in Malaysia is similar to that of the Secret Recipe cafe. Although there are too many staff, service is too slow for me.

Hungry! Going to prepare dinner now...

武士の一文

週末、家に居れて、気持ちいい！今日起きた時、時計を見ると10時っだったが、まだ早いねと思いました。

今日は友達と一緒に映画を見る予定で、映画はLove and Honour。友達は誘うとき、私はこの映画を全然知らなかった。でも、木村拓哉が主演するし、大丈夫だったよ。

今映画をちょっと調べた。日本語の名前は「武士の一文」、先生から借りたDVDと同じ！DVDは未だ見てないが、いつでも家で見られるよ！

どうしようかな？？

It feels good to be able to be at my own home during the weekend! I checked the clock when I woke up today. 10 am, still early!

I will be watching a movie with a friend today, called "Love and Honour". When my friend invited me, I didn't recognise the name of the movie at all. However, since Takuya Kimura was starring in it, I was fine.

I did a search on the movie just now. The Japanese name of the movie is called "武士の一分", which is the same as the DVD that I borrowed from my teacher! Although I have not watched the DVD yet, I can watch it anytime at home.

What should I do???
